Bio:

Gretchen Geraets’ practice addresses the boundaries of convention, assumption and belief. She works to deconstruct logic, to create ruptures through objects that have the potential to deny meaning. She questions how conditioned the human position is, the core technical and eco systems that surround and encapsulate us. Often working with objects and photography of diverse form and materiality, Geraets’ practice is continually shifting, de-contextualizing and re-contextualizing to afford new truths.

Gretchen Geraets is a New Zealand born artist who currently resides in London. Recent exhibitions include ‘The Tomorrow People’, Elevator Gallery, London, 2014; ‘futures past’, LoBe, Berlin, 2014, ;*Student & Recent Graduate Show’, Catalyst Arts, Belfast, NI and ‘Disappearing Act’, Longwhite CLOUD, London, 2013.
