Loudmouth (2010)

Loudmouth (2010). Video (1min 40 secs).
‘Loudmouth’ originated from the experience of walking through Archway in what is described by police officials as the ‘difficult hour’ between 3-4pm. This daily event marks the diurnal rhythms of Archway and forms a specific temporary soundscape. This project highlights the uses and controls of public space in Archway, and the measures taken to regulate or diminish the presence of youth groups, addressing wider issues of surveillance, territoriality and 'anti-social' behaviour in cities.
