WORK

Freshness is what I’m after. I work quickly and intuitively, consuming as much imagery as I can elsewhere that feeds into the work gradually and through the composting of memory. This contributes to drawings which become hastily arranged sculptures and slow and contemplative paintings that are on the whole deadpan and self-mocking. My most recent work combines ambiguous forms with nostalgic colouring, from the creamy palette of old public buildings and the deep burgundy of my late mother’s lipstick.
