East End Film Festival 2011

Since its inception in 2001, East End Film Festival has grown to become one of the UK’s largest film festivals. Unveiled in the Masonic Lodge at the Andaz Liverpool Street Hotel, this year’s festival celebrates its 10 year anniversary with a program jam-packed with delights!
The festival opens with the world premiere gala screening of an all-access documentary about The Libertines. It will also show an array of brilliant British films, hot international premieres of Polish and Romanian new wave cinema and much, much more! There will be street parties and heritage screenings to celebrate the Royal Wedding. Other cinematic treats include the UK premiere of a digitally re-mastered classic presented by Adrian Utley; a controversial and rarely seen British feature and Q&A with director, Ken Russell as well as a free outdoor screening of silent 1925 classic Manasse with live accompaniment by Minima.
There will also be a Bank Holiday bonanza Movie May Day with hundreds of free screenings, projections, live music and events hidden in nooks and crannies of the East End including a secret society series in the Masonic Lodge.
East End Film is also collaborating with renowned music festival Camden Crawl, also celebrating it's 10th birthday, to present SONIC FILM - two afternoons of cinema and music curated by Brit and Mercury Music Prize nominated indie rock band Guillemots and acclaimed British alternative dance act Saint Etienne.
