FREE summer skills enhancement programmes for
young people across Tower Hamlets

The start of the summer break signals an exciting period of creative incubation and collaboration between some of the Borough’s most talented young people and contemporary artists Marysa Dowling and Albert Potrony

Week one 26th – 30th July 2010 Young people between 10 – 14yrs old

Week two 2nd – 5th August 2010 Young people between 15 – 19yrs old

The free courses are aimed at passionate, creatively curious and committed young people from between 10-19yrs old from across the Borough. Participants will come away having learnt new ways of thinking and being creative, techniques in core areas such as photography, 3D, audio, painting, mark making and film and new insight to career pathways in the creative industries. Each week culminates in a public exhibition for one night only curated by the young people using the work they have created during their week together.

The programme aims to further build confidence, deliver tools to approach thinking in new ways creative problem solving and gain access to locally renowned cultural venues such as The Nunnery, Whitechapel and Chisenhale galleries.

The Visual Arts Consortium for Find Your Talent in the borough of Tower Hamlets is currently being led by Bow Arts Trust, Whitechapel Gallery and Chisenhale Gallery with support from THAMES.
