Jenny Jones is an artist and writer based in London. She has an MA in Visual Arts from Leeds University & has been a Cultural Studies Lecturer with Art & Design students since 2004.
In this work, paint journeys off-stretcher to create an apocalyptic accretion of remade ready-mades, clad in fake impasto. Offered a number of shifting views, the viewer may choose to scry for faces, lose their self-amongst surfaces or ‘master’ the domain by identifying mundane items such as a milk carton. Paint becomes a distressing technique, the artist marbles whilst Rome burns... Art’s History!
