Good design today ensures that products embody an ethic, a view of what it means to be human. It’s all about values. embodying a specific idea of human nature.This project Embodying Ethics is an attempt of creating a critical positioning to produce Socially Responsive design

Scope

Ethical reflection as a tool for innovation. It can be an approach to inspiration in creating socially responsible design in different sector of industry. It is differnt in appraoch to Vexed and Dune and raby in the critical positioning.

Notion of luxury

Why am I working with archetypes?

• To understand the cultural DNA of archetypes and to have an insight on the metaphorical life cycle of an object.
• Vernacular language: a visual language that is easily understood by the viewer. The narrative to be more less ambigious in terms of the scenario being presented
• Provides a surreal perspective on the objects and presenting an ordinary object as extraordinary.

How is this Industrial Design?

Working on the methodology of using a typology as a starting point or a value/human nature as the starting point, other ideas that generated where the flood table, tree house cart and sewer life. These objects were an experimentation on the application of this methodology.

Introduction

The popular understanding of Contemporary design practice, is that its an area driven by marketing + pure technology + economics. It's evident that its primary role has been to feed in new desires among consumers. Design has become more or less a commercial tool disconnected from broader social context. It assumes that all consumers are ideal, assuming a homogeneous behaviour pattern, reflecting the notion of correct behaviour and creating prejudice towards objects in the consumers mind.
