Eleni Zagkali is an artist living and working in London. She studied in Central Saint Martins College of Art&Design (MA Fine Arts) and The School of Fine Arts, Aristotle University, Greece (BA Fine Arts).
Fascinated by contemporary virtual environments, Zagkali examines their immersive capacity and set of values. Her recent body of work captures (non)places and (inter)activity existing in video game worlds, interlacing their perceptual and psychological attributes and delving into the blurred boundary between what is synthetic and what is insistently real. Her practice explores the transitional stage where the virtual blends into the actual (and vice versa) moulding human perception on one’s own self and surrounding world.
