New Work: How To Get Results With People by Jade Heritage

I am currently working on a piece called How To Get Results With People, based on a series of 1987 motivational lectures of the same name. I will be working with actors and non-actors, including those considered fully mentally able, as well as autistic individuals. I am looking to build up a cross reference of interpretation looking at a very outdated idea of self-help. The final piece will be a series of HD Videos with the possibility of live performance and community interaction.

A Study in Movement and Everyday

The protagonist stands against a backdrop of grass, moss, or woods. It doesn't matter if it is only one, two, or all of these. This man is central to the camera, and he fits neatly in the frame, from head to toe. There is the distinct feeling that although it feels rural, the city is nearby. You are being fooled by the foliage around him. He kneels into the grass, or moss, and rubs one hand into it, until it turns green.

It's like

when people agree with you three times, you know they really mean it

and their feet spin against the wood, turning away from you, into their own worlds, but you sit between the two momentarily, into theirs, listening

and you wish to be a part of something bigger

instead of this, stirring, simmering

and people tell stories about the dramatic and abject, fucking and not remembering

which you don't hold a place with, yet you try to place your own self, into their world

YOU CAN GET EVERYTHING!
